Our Mission
The mission of the Shasta Birding Society is to promote enjoyment,
conservation, and restoration of natural ecosystems, focusing on birds,
other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the
earth’s biological diversity.
Our Purpose
The purpose and objectives of this Chapter shall be to engage in any such educational, scientific, investigative, literary, historical, philanthropic, and charitable pursuits as may be part of the stated purposes of the National Audubon Society, of which this organization shall function as a Chapter.
Our Board of Directors
The expertise of our board is as diverse as the birds we observe. They come from backgrounds in non-profit management, science with the Dept of Fish and Wildlife, public health, wildlife resources, conservation planning, and those who simply enjoy birds. The board knows how important it is to protect bird habitats and is dedicated to wildlife preservation, enjoyment and appreciation. They believe that SBS is more than just a birding group; it can help build and strengthen our community.
